Because the internet abhors a Batman vacuum, here are a couple of rumours circling Warner Bros’ upcoming superhero flick Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
First up, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will apparently not be bald in the film, a source tells Batman News (precisely where one should turn for that kind of information).
The source caught a glimpse of Eisenberg filming scenes with “a lot of hair.” And not his regular hair, either: “a bit longer, kind of loose and wavy, and it’s dirty blonde.”
You can probably expect much of that to be gone by the end of the movie though; shorn off in some moment of villainous posturing, or maybe it’ll simply fall out from alopecia. Director Zack Snyder may have minimised Doctor Manhattan’s penis in Watchmen, but he certainly wouldn’t dare inspire the wrath of the fanboy community by having his Lex Luthor look all Wavy Gravy for the entirety of the movie.
Latino Review, meanwhile, has their own source whispering to them information about a standalone Batman film pencilled in for 2019, titled The Batman.
First thought: no duh. Warner Bros would love to have their own standalone Batman saga once again; that’s pretty much why they’re introducing Ben Affleck’s Batman to a Man of Steel sequel.
2019 is a while away, so you could suspect that’s to give WB time to produce a long awaited Justice League film (and maybe allow Affleck to direct a few movies in between).
Or, perhaps Latino Review’s source simply picked a realistic date that was also far enough away to not have to be called out on it in the near future. Win win.
Batman v Superman arrives in cinemas May 2016.
