Marvel may have lost an Ant-Man director, but they’ve at least gained one for Doctor Strange.
Scott Derrickson (Sinister) Tweeted yesterday, “My next movie will be STRANGE,” making semi-official his link to the Marvel property.
According to Variety, talks are still early, but there aren’t expected to be any roadblocks on the way to a deal being made.
Mention of Doctor Strange was made in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Marvel’s Kevin Feige had previously indicated a movie based around the sorcerer would be part of their third phase (following The Avengers: Age of Ultron).
Marvel will now go to work on casting Doctor Strange himself. But first, they should really find a replacement for Edgar Wright on Ant-Man.
