It-girl Lupita Nyong’o received her official coronation earlier this month when the Academy awarded her the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 12 Years a Slave.
Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, she might be shot into the stratosphere with a leading role in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars sequel.
Latino Review first broke the news, suggesting Nyong’o might be in the running to play a major sith character.
Her reps responded cagily: “We’re not allowed to talk about that.”
THR received further confirmation of her meeting for the part, though they have heard she’s up to play one of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s descendants.
Adam Driver and Jesse Plemons have previously been linked to parts in the flick.
Hopefully, Disney will start announcing something solid about Star Wars: Episode VII in the coming weeks.
It’s set to arrive in cinemas late 2015.
