Most movie studios will set up similar sites over the next month, as the Oscar season begins the expensive campaigning normally reserved for presidential elections.
However, not all movie studios are promoting The Dark Knight, so who cares about them.
A notable inclusion on the site is the film’s final shooting script by Christopher Nolan and his brother Jonathan. Sure, the bit where Batman flips the semi-trailer isn’t as exciting in written form – but it’ll do until the DVD comes out in December.
According to the site’s For Your Consideration section, the film is campaigning in all categories, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography etc. The whole cast is also after Oscar gold, with Christian Bale entering the Best Actor race (a long shot, but it would be nice) and Maggie Gyllenhaal going for Best Supporting Actress.
Current Best Supporting Actor favourite Heath Ledger is going to be competing against Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman. Look, a film with this many great performances is bound to get at least one nomination.
But where is Eric Roberts on that list? Recount! Recount! Recount!
What do you think of The Dark Knight’s oscar chances?
