The poster for Clint Eastwood‘s upcoming film Gran Torino has landed. If a picture is worth a thousand words, this one says “who stole my beans?!?!”
Looking suitably crazy and badass, Gran Torino is set to be the legendary actor’s final film in front of the character. However, we’ve heard that before.
Eastwood plays racist Korean war vet Walt Kowalski, whose most treasured possession is his 1972 Gran Torino. When a young immigrant teenager (first-timer Bee Vang) attempts to steal the car as part of a gang initiation, Kowalski sets out to reform the young man. The man and boy bond, despite their age differences and prejudices.
Many moons ago, we reported this film as possibly being Dirty Harry 6. Sorry bout that. To be honest with you though, doesn’t this film sound awesome! Sure, maybe my little summary isn’t too tantalising, but when the poster has Eastwood standing in front of the Torino with an M-1 rifle and the craziest-eyes-I’ve-ever-seen, you know this is going to be something special.
Gran Torino, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, opens January 29. Eastwood’s other project, Changeling, opens February 12.
UPDATE: Well, kiss my grits, if a trailer didn’t emerge right after posting this article. Enjoy it!
